Dr. Christian Volkmann advises companies, associations, and public-law corporations on matters of intellectual property law, including competition law. He specializes in media law, general contract law, and labor law. He represents his clients in all matters of commercial law, particularly in the drafting of contracts.
Dr. Volkmann manages an extensive trademark portfolio for national and international clients, advises on national and international trademark strategies, and acts in invalidity and opposition proceedings before the DPMA and the EUIPO. He also has extensive experience in conducting competition proceedings.
Dr. Christian Volkmann has published numerous specialist articles. Among other things, Dr. Volkmann comments in the standard commentary Spindler/Schuster (eds.), Recht der elektronischen Medien (Law of Electronic Media), 4th edition, 2019, on the provisions of Sections 7 to 10 of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) (together with Dr. Helmut Hoffmann), Section 1004 of the German Civil Code (BGB), and Section 59 of the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty.
Dr. Christian Volkmann is a member of the German Association for Industrial Property and Copyright (GRUR) and the Intellectual Property & Media Working Group of the German Bar Association.
He has been appointed as a notary since 2017.
