At the beginning of 2026, the founding partners of the law firm AU VON POCHHAMMER Rechtsanwälte, Dr. Saskia Au (54) and Kathrin von Pochhammer (55), merged with the law firm merlekerpartner. Both lawyers have many years of experience advising medium-sized companies and startups, primarily in the renewable energy and e-commerce sectors, the construction industry, and the biotech and medical fields.

Von Pochhammer was once again recognized as a "Best Lawyer" in corporate law in the Handelsblatt ranking of "Germany's Best Lawyers" published by the US publisher Best Lawyers in 2025. Dr. Au is a distinguished contract lawyer and also a passionate litigator. Dr. Au also focuses her practice on employment law. Both lawyers founded their own firm in 2020 after having worked together for many years as partners in a Berlin boutique business law firm. 

Through the merger, merlekerpartner will grow to nine professionals (eight of whom are equity partners) at the start of the new year, four of whom are also notaries public specializing in real estate and corporate law. "With this significant strengthening of our civil, commercial, and corporate law practice, we will be able to continue meeting the demands of our discerning clientele," emphasized firm founder Oliver Merleker (68).
